A unique, one-of-a-kind timeless classic, first imagined in 1989 by a 19-year-old local artist. Using the very shapes of Nantucket’s islands to spell out the name Nantucket, this design quickly became a favorite among visitors and locals alike.

Originally sold through Yesterday’s Island mail order and on the sands of Jetties and Surfside Beach, the artwork was created with hand-cut stencils and traditional silk-screening — a true labor of love for the island and for art.

Today, the design returns with a modern touch. Produced with digital printing methods, it achieves a cleaner, more consistent finish while preserving the original spirit. In its evolution, Tuckernuck and Muskeget have been added as graceful details, ensuring the lettering remains clear and undeniable while honoring the authentic integrity of the 1989 classic.
